A little weekend pumpkin mutilation

October 28th, 2008 | My boys, my loves, Personal

I have to say a big thank you to my parents–who never, ever hesitate to come to my rescue.  I really appreciate you helping me out with the boys during this crazy busy time.  Dad, I also REALLY appreciate you taking on one of my least favorite parent jobs–pumpkin carving.

I don’t really get grossed out by the pumpkin “guts”, I’m just really bad at it.  But then again, so are you, Dad.  :)   Hey, this is what Jake wanted, and he was happy, so that’s all that matters, right?  Nevermind the UPS guy chuckling everytime he sees this sad thing on my porch.

As my dad is carving away, I see this THING on my deck!  What in the world is it?  Leave me a comment if you know what it is.

Kelly: It’s a BUG —– a big, ugly BUG. Any other questions?

It looks like what we call here in TX a stink bug, but not 100% sure.

The Rhodes Family

October 26th, 2008 | Children, Families

Last Sunday I met the Rhodes Family at Loose Park and we had this session done in about 20 minutes!  The boys were so sweet and good natured–and so darn good looking, with the most striking blue eyes!  Mom and Dad are going to have some heartbreakers in about 10 years, that’s for sure.

a little bit of this…a little bit of that

October 22nd, 2008 | My boys, my loves, Personal

Throughout the past few weeks–actually months–lots of little things have happened that I meant to blog about.  Funny things the boys have said or done, interesting tidbits I’ve come across , and the happiness and disappointment that occurs daily–that little thing called LIFE.

I’m trying to remember to   s l o w   d o w n   and enjoy each minute–by myself, with my boys, my husband, my extended family and friends.  Tonight, I want to share some of the little things.

First off, a BIG thank you to my friend, Susan, who sent us home from dinner at her house the other night with cupcakes.  I have really great friends.  :)

Jake, my 2nd grader, got his first report card with letter grades.  And my sweet, sensitive, smart boy got his very first report card with all A’s!

He’s going on a super exciting field trip tomorrow and he was worried about forgetting something important in the morning.  Look at this adorable note he left on top of his backpack.  I love the “note to self” reminder!  Is he my son, or what?!

Have a good night!   ~K

The Bailey Family

October 19th, 2008 | Families

I know someone is anxiously waiting for this sneak peek, and even though it’s late Sunday night, I wanted to keep my promise and post them tonight.  I’ve been so busy the past few weeks, it’s been killing me to shoot a session and then have it just sit there and wait to be edited for a week or more.  I was so excited to check out the images of this fun family.  Little Miss Emma was such a hoot…and I loved the photo of her carrying around her buckets like they were purses!  :)

Sarah

October 16th, 2008 | Seniors

Sarah and I had such a good time last week on her senior photo shoot.  If the sun hadn’t gone down, I could have just kept going, and going, and going.  I had so many favorites from this shoot, that these don’t even scratch the surface!
